Qualifications

• Class A CDL w/Tanker Endorsement or AZ pesticide applicator certification, or must obtain within 6 months.

• Background and motor vehicle record checks required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine skilled maintenance and landscaping tasks using hand and power tools.
• Inspects, cleans, and performs routine maintenance on trucks and equipment.
• Operates a variety of trucks and equipment following safety regulations.
• Uses asset management software to track work orders and document Blue Stake requests.
• Provides service to internal and external customers.

Maintenance Associate III – Street Maintenance Hot Shot/Stormwater Division

This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in working in a fast-paced environment. The Public Works Department provides services that are vital to our community’s health, safety, and comfort.

Hours of operation: June 1 - October 1 5:00 am - 3:30 pm; October 2 - May 31 6:00 am - 4:30 pm

Mandatory rotating on-call.

Expected Hiring Range: $21.68 - $26.56 hourly

• Placement within the expected hiring range is dependent on direct experience, internal equity and/or budget.

Salary Range: $21.68 - $31.44 hourly

• Performs routine skilled maintenance and/or landscaping tasks; uses a variety of hand and power tools; inspects, cleans, and performs routine maintenance work on truck and equipment; identifies and reports mechanical problems.
• Provides service to internal and external customers.
• Performs work duties and operates a variety of trucks and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.
• Utilizes asset management software to track and manage work orders. Call, clear, and document Blue Stake.
• High school diploma or GED equivalency plus six months of additional education or training.
• Over three (3) years of street construction/maintenance/landscaping experience or closely related field.
• Valid Arizona Driver License.
• Valid Class A CDL w/Tanker Endorsement and/or AZ Certified Pesticide Applicator or must obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Must complete a pre-employment physical including an audiogram and pass a 50-pound lift test.
• Must complete both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check.

An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills & abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• AZ Certified Pesticide Applicator License plus over three (3) years of street construction/maintenance/landscaping experience.
• Experience working in a Municipality/Government setting.
• Valid Class A CDL w/Tanker Endorsement.
