City of Maypearl is seeking a general maintenance worker to perform grounds maintenance and assist in utility-related repair and upgrade tasks at city facilities and streets.

You will operate equipment, log records, and assist with water and sewer lines under supervision; on-call for emergencies; a high school diploma or GED and a valid Class C license are required.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class C Driver's License required.
• Ability to interpret water/wastewater regulations.
• Experience with utility meters beneficial.
• Experience operating hand tools and heavy equipment preferred.

• Check and maintain equipment to ensure proper function.
• Assist in the repair and maintenance of city streets.
• Assist in the installation of water lines, water taps and water meters.
• Assists in the installation, service and upgrade of water and sewer lines.
• Assist in the repair of sewer mains, services, manholes and lift stations.
• Log completed daily maintenance records.
• Locate breaks and/or leaks in utility lines.
• Operate equipment such as mowers, weed eaters and other heavy equipment.
• Ensure safe operating conditions of work sites.
• Assists with Utility Billing tasks, streets and parks when requested.
• Completes work orders generated by city staff.
• Attend training to further understand utility industry.
• Assist in the maintenance and inspection of departmental vehicles and equipment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

SUMMARY OF JOB

Perform a variety of general maintenance, grounds duties related to maintenance and repair of City facilities and grounds as directed by the crew leader or supervisor.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Check and maintain equipment to ensure proper function
• Assist in the repair and maintenance of city streets
• Assist in the installation of water lines, water taps and water meters
• Assists in the installation, service and upgrade of water and sewer lines
• Assist in the repair of sewer mains, services, manholes and lift stations
• Log completed daily maintenance records
• Locate breaks and/or leaks in utility lines
• Operate equipment such as mowers, weed eaters and other heavy equipment
• Ensure safe operating conditions of work sites

SUPERVISORY/BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Tasks are regularly performed in extreme heat and cold weather conditions
• May be subject to repetitive motion such as lifting, twisting, rotating, standing and kneeling
• Will be on a rotating on-call schedule for emergency and call outs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Class C Drivers License

PREFERENCES

• Class I Wastewater Collections License, or greater
• Class C Distribution Operators License, or greater
• Class B CDL
