Job summary

The City of Morgantown is seeking a Laborer in the Public Works & Engineering; Streets and Right of Way Division. This temporary full-time, non-exempt role performs manual labor to maintain asphalt and concrete surfaces, clean ditches, and support snow/ice removal in winter.

Responsibilities include operating light equipment (<3 tons), installing signs, and custodial tasks. A valid driver's license is required; Class D license within 30 days is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• One year of general construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on city streets, paving, concrete, and excavation tasks.
• Operate light equipment under supervision.
• Keep streets and sidewalks clear of debris and perform custodial tasks as needed.
• Assist with snow and ice removal during winter months.
• Maintain signs, markers, lines, and safety equipment.
• Assist with event setup and right-of-way preparations.
