Job summary

Atlantic County is seeking workers for its Department of Public Works. Location options include Northfield, Hammonton, or Estell Manor. The role offers a CDL training path with a potential salary increase to $36,000 once CDL is obtained.

After one year with a CDL, employees are automatically promoted to Road Repairer 1 with a further salary increase. The County also provides two $750 annual CDL stipends and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of methods, materials and supplies used to perform varied manual tasks.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for long periods under varying conditions.
• Ability to follow safety precautions and instructions.
• Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Digs trenches and performs manual grading.
• Loads, lifts and moves supplies and equipment.
• Cleans up debris, maintains grounds and related areas.
• Operates and maintains basic maintenance equipment.
• Assists with maintenance and repair tasks as required.
