Job summary

Nazareth Civil is hiring a Public Works Inspector for an on-site, full-time role based in Los Angeles, CA. The position focuses on inspecting streets, utilities, drainage, and municipal infrastructure to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of public works inspection experience, with roadway and ADA projects preferred. Strong field documentation, communication, and knowledge of relevant codes are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in public works or civil infrastructure inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong field documentation, report writing, note-taking, and photo documentation skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally between job sites.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management preferred.
• Experience with roadway, ADA, streetscape, or similar improvements.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal codes and standards.
• Effective communication with contractors, engineers, and public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of streets, utilities, drainage, and municipal infrastructure to verify compliance with plans and codes.
• Document work progress, prepare inspection reports, take measurements, and photograph construction activities.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and agency staff to address deficiencies and ensure quality control.
• Monitor traffic control and site safety; review materials and test results.
• Attend project meetings and provide clear status updates to stakeholders.
