The Public Works Inspector is a full-time, on-site role based in Los Angeles, CA. This role is responsible for inspecting public works construction projects such as streets, sidewalks, utilities, drainage, and other municipal infrastructure to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, codes, and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include conducting field inspections, documenting work progress, preparing inspection reports, taking measurements, and photographing construction activities. The inspector must have at least five years of construction inspection experience on public works or public infrastructure projects. The experience must include roadway, pedestrian, bicycle, ADA-accessibility, streetscape, or comparable improvements. The successful candidate will also coordinate with contractors, engineers, and agency staff to address deficiencies, resolve field issues, and support quality control. Additional responsibilities include monitoring traffic control and site safety, reviewing materials and test results, attending project meetings, and providing clear communication to stakeholders regarding project status and compliance.
