Job summary

City of Weslaco is seeking a street maintenance worker to repair and maintain city streets using equipment such as backhoes, loaders, excavators, dump trucks, paving machines, motor graders, and street sweepers. The role includes assisting with drain ditch cleaning and public works projects, interpreting maps to locate work sites, and performing related duties as assigned.

Applicants should have 3–5 years of relevant experience and be prepared for on-site outdoor work in varying weather

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Class B CDL preferred but not required.
• 3–5 years of related work experience.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Must complete Emergency Management and Incident Command Training within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as backhoe, front end loader, excavator, dump truck and other heavy equipment.
• Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
• Perform routine maintenance on assigned equipment and trucks.
