Job summary

The City of Victor, Colorado is seeking an Equipment Operator II to perform advanced public works field operations, operate heavy equipment, maintain streets and infrastructure, and support fleet readiness through hands‑on maintenance and repair.

This journey‑level role requires safe operation of multiple heavy machines, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or lead crews in the field. Flexibility for after‑hours response is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years of increasingly responsible public works, construction, or equipment maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks and heavy equipment (e.g., motor graders, excavators, loaders, skid steers, plow trucks) to support street and public works operations.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs on City vehicles and equipment to ensure readiness.
• Serve as on‑site lead in the absence of a supervisor and coordinate crew activities.
• Respond to emergencies or weather‑related needs and work safely around traffic and utilities.
