Job summary

The Town of Burlington is seeking a skilled equipment operator to perform heavy public works tasks in the Burlington, MA area. You will drive and operate dump trucks, backhoes, loaders, and street sweepers while performing manual labor as needed.

Must hold a CDL Class B license and obtain 1B/2A/4E/4G hoisting licenses within 90 days. Availability for snow removal and emergency repairs is required. Full-time union position with competitive hourly wage and benefits.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B license required or obtainable.
• Hoisting licenses 1B/2A/4E/4G within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to operate trucks over 3 tons up to 9 tons.
• Operate hoisting equipment and related public works machinery.
• Available for emergency snow removal and road treatment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining and repairing streets and drainage lines.
• Operate heavy equipment such as dump trucks, backhoes, loaders and street sweepers.
• Provide snow removal and sanding support during winter conditions.
• Load/unload materials and perform related labor when not operating equipment.
• Respond to emergency public works repairs as needed.
