Weld County in Colorado seeks a skilled field equipment operator to maintain county gravel roads in the Dacono area. You will operate heavy machinery, report data, and assist with snow removal under supervision and in emergencies.
Role requires a High School Diploma or GED, two years of equipment operation experience, and a valid CDL Class A with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain. MSHA certification is a plus; wage range is posted with benefits.
Compensation Range $29.30 - $38.10
Operate construction equipment for routine maintenance and reconstruction tasks on county gravel roads in the Dacono area. This position will report directly to Dacono.
Required Education
High School Diploma/GED
Required Work Experience
Two years of heavy or light equipment operation including motor grader experience.
Preferred Work Experience
Advanced level of Gravel Road maintenance.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid Colorado Commercial Driver’s License, Class A with tanker endorsement required or ability to obtain license within specified time frame agreed upon hire. Ability to be MSHA certified.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Candidate must pass a background check prior to employment start date.
Candidate must pass substance use screening prior to employment start date.
This position will participate in random substance use screening.
Candidate must pass a physical demands evaluation post offer screen compatible to this position.

The employee will regularly perform the following: sit, reach angularly, wrist flexion/extension, elbow flexion/extension, supination/pronation, and grasp.
Required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to hazards, temperature change, fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and cold temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
This position is non‑exempt from the minimum wage and overtime requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay.
