Job summary

The City of Indianapolis is seeking a general labor maintenance worker to perform a variety of tasks in the DPW Operations Maintenance Section. Responsibilities include asphalt patching, crack sealing, concrete work, playground repairs, grounds keeping, snow removal, and equipment cleaning.

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to varying weather. A High School diploma is required, with lifting up to 25 pounds and a preferred Indiana driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• May be required to perform manual tasks that require lifting and carrying of objects in excess of 25 pounds.
• A valid Indiana Driver's License is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide general labor functions commonly associated with City municipal work assignments.
• Assist with asphalt patching, crack sealing, concrete work, playground equipment repair, grounds keeping and other related duties.
• Assist with snow removal functions
• Cleans/washes equipment as needed
• Operates small motorized equipment
• Assist with daily care and maintenance of tools and supplies
