Job summary

Walker County Government’s Public Works Department is seeking a General Laborer for entry-level manual labor and support in routine maintenance and repairs.

Work schedules include Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with availability for weather events and emergencies outside normal hours.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and prefer 1 year in construction or general maintenance; CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• General labor tasks as assigned by supervisors.
• Operate a mowing follower truck when needed.
• Perform weed eating and shoveling.
