Job summary

Spotsylvania County, VA is seeking a custodial/maintenance worker to support the Public Works Department. Qualifications

• Experience in custodial work or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Knowledge of county organization, operation, programs, practices and procedures.
• Ability to perform strenuous work under varying weather conditions and to follow oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the disposal of residential waste.
• Removes snow and ice from yards and buildings; sweeps yards and rakes, blows and removes leaves.
• Picks up and disposes of litter around the buildings.
• Communicates with the public in person or via telephone.
• Completes time sheets and relays information to Public Works Department.
• Performs other related duties as required.
