Job summary

IBTS is seeking a Field Crew Leader in St. George, LA to lead a municipal services crew in delivering public works operations. The role combines supervisory duties with hands-on fieldwork, including pothole repair, sign maintenance, litter control, mowing, and event setup.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years in public works with leadership experience, plus a valid Louisiana driver’s license. Availability for on‑call emergencies is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 3 years of experience in public works, municipal services, or related field with leadership/crew lead responsibilities.
• Valid Louisiana driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• On-call availability for emergencies and severe weather events.
• Preferred: ability to pull trailers safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and work with the municipal services crew to complete daily public works tasks.
• Perform pothole repairs, pavement patching, and street sign maintenance.
• Oversee litter collection, debris removal, mowing, and vegetation control.
• Provide setup and support for community events.
• Respond to emergencies and support disaster recovery.
• Actively participate in hands-on work and training of crew members.
• Enforce safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Coordinate materials, equipment, and tool availability.
• Investigate issues, document findings, and propose solutions.
• Utilize work order software to track and close tasks in real time.
• Communicate with supervisors, team members, and the public.
