City of Waukesha is seeking a capable public works assistant to operate trucks and equipment, assist in sewer maintenance, street cleaning, and seasonal snow operations. The role requires basic automotive operation knowledge, high school diploma, and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities include landscape/sidewalk maintenance, inventory control, and routine reporting. Weekend/overtime hours may be required during peak seasons. An Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED and 1–3 years of public works experience.
• Familiarity with standard automotive construction equipment and inventory control.
• Ability to use Windows-based programs and fuel reporting.

Responsabilités

• Operates several sizes of trucks and a variety of hand and power tools.
• Performs landscape and sidewalk maintenance and seasonal snow operations.
• Assists in sewer and street maintenance, cleaning, and repairs.
• Maintains traffic signals, street lighting, and signs.
• Performs required monthly fuel reports and inventory tasks.
• Reports for emergencies off hours, including weekends.
