Laramie County Government in Cheyenne, WY, seeks a semi-skilled Equipment Operator to support Public Works with road and infrastructure repair, grading, and equipment maintenance. Safe operation of trucks and heavy machinery is essential, along with timely reporting of issues and daily logs.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, plus two years of related experience and the ability to obtain a CDL within six months.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED; two years of construction, equipment maintenance, and related operator experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Must obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License within 6 months of hire; special license endorsements and technical certifications may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Operates trucks and heavy equipment to repair and maintain roads, properties and infrastructure.
• Grads and shapes roads; repairs roadway and infrastructure as directed.
• Inspects, cleans and performs routine maintenance on trucks and equipment.
• Performs special labor assignments including fire control, accident and hazardous materials cleanup, culvert and sign maintenance, snow and debris removal.
• Collects and hauls materials and debris; may operate rock crushing equipment.
• Operates power equipment and hand tools as needed.
• Performs traffic control and reports safety hazards and traffic problems.
• Follows safety rules; assists work crews as required.
• Observes roadway courtesies and acts for public safety during emergencies.
• Completes daily logs and reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
