Job summary

Town of Rockvale is seeking an Equipment Operator/Public Works Maintenance employee to assist with operation, maintenance, and improvement of town infrastructure. This role can start part-time and transition to full-time based on performance, water certifications, and needs.

The position involves outdoor work, equipment operation, and serving a small community; certifications and advancement opportunities may increase pay and responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience operating equipment, machinery, or working in construction/public works preferred.
• Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Colorado water certification or willingness to obtain certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate town equipment including trucks, tractors, loaders, mowers, and maintenance equipment.
• Assist with road support and drainage.
• Support operation and maintenance of the municipal water system.
• Perform snow removal and seasonal maintenance duties.
• Maintain town facilities and public spaces.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
• Respond to emergency or after-hours public works situations when needed.
• Follow all safety procedures and municipal policies.
