Job summary

Ardurra is seeking a Public Works Engineering Intern to join our team in Spokane, WA for Summer 2027. You will support engineering tasks in planning, design, and construction of public works, gaining real-world experience and exposure to professional practice.

The role offers hands-on duties under supervision, including drafting plan details, assisting with specifications, field data collection, and preparing project documentation while you develop technical skills and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Exposure to or familiarity with AutoCAD or similar engineering software is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Team-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work with a team of professionals and independently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Bluebeam and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assists with preparing basic plan details, drawings, and calculations under the guidance of project engineers.
• Supports the development of technical specifications and project documentation.
• Drafts sections of technical reports or memorandums with direction from the team.
• Participates in field visits to observe tests, take measurements, and collect field data.
• Provides general support to project teams, including helping with proposal materials as needed.
• Performs assigned duties to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures and standards required for successful performance.
• May perform duties such as gathering and organizing data to provide information for departmental special projects or reports; assisting professional level employees on assignments; and other related duties as assigned.
• Utilizes current company-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as needed to support team and organizational goals.
