Job summary

The City of Canby, Oregon is seeking its next Public Works Director to lead a 25-person team and oversee streets, parks, wastewater, and facilities while guiding long-range planning and capital improvements for the community.

The Director reports to the City Administrator, manages budgets, ensures regulatory compliance, and represents Public Works at meetings and in interagency collaborations to strengthen Canby's infrastructure and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or related field.
• 5+ years in public works with at least 2 years supervisory experience as a director or supervisor.
• Civil engineering background preferred and Oregon driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a 25 FTE Public Works team and about 70 miles of roadway and 220 acres of parks/open space.
• Lead long-range planning, asset management, and capital improvement programs.
• Develop and manage budgets, ensure compliance, and represent the department at meetings.
