The City of Kennesaw, Georgia is seeking a Public Works Director to lead a 33-person department, overseeing planning, engineering, and stormwater programs while partnering with the City Manager to deliver strategic infrastructure projects.

This executive role requires strong vision, financial acumen, and community engagement to advance transit corridors, resiliency, and multi‑modal transportation with SPLOST funding.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering required.
• Master’s degree with 8+ years progressively responsible experience in Public Works or Engineering preferred.
• Equivalency allowed; combination of education/training/experience considered.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Responsabilidades

• Provide executive leadership for the Public Works Department, overseeing 33 positions.
• Balance planning, technical oversight and high‑level engagement to deliver major infrastructure projects.
• Direct efforts in transit corridors, engineering plans, stormwater resiliency and redevelopment.
• Collaborate with City Manager and other departments to align with strategic goals.

Educación

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering

Master’s degree in a non-technical field with 8+ years of experience in Public Works/Engineering

Equivalency: any equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Georgia driver’s license
