Job summary

The City of Wilmer, Texas seeks a Public Works Director to provide executive leadership over all Public Works operations including streets, drainage, water and wastewater systems, and facilities. The Director will oversee maintenance, capital projects, and long-range infrastructure planning.

You will manage budgets, supervise staff and contractors, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinate with the City Administrator and City Council on project priorities and emergency response.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least five years in public works or municipal utilities.
• Supervisory or management experience required.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day operations of Public Works department and supervises staff.
• Oversees streets, drainage, water distribution, wastewater, and facilities.
• Develops short- and long-range infrastructure plans.
• Prepare budgets and monitor expenditures.
• Coordinate with City Administrator, engineering staff, and contractors.
