Job summary

The City of Moline is seeking a Design Engineer to contribute to planning and delivery of public infrastructure, including streets, utilities, parks, and other municipal facilities. This role supports community growth by designing projects that meet safety, regulatory, and constructibility standards.

You will design projects under the Assistant Director of Engineering, producing plans, specifications, permits, and cost estimates while ensuring ADA, IDOT, and Complete Streets guidelines are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Experience designing municipal streets, utilities, and public works facilities.
• AutoCAD experience and GIS familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare plans, drawings, and calculations for streets, utilities, parks and municipal projects.
• Develop schematic, construction, and as‑built drawings.
• Coordinate with inspectors, contractors, and staff to ensure compliance with plans and safety standards.
• Prepare project specifications, bid materials, and cost estimates.
• Submit required State and Federal permit applications for capital improvement projects.
• Support capital improvement planning with project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
