The City of Muscatine is seeking a City Engineer to guide the design and delivery of infrastructure projects along the Mississippi River. You will oversee sidewalk improvements, street maintenance, flood protection, sewers, levee work, trails and parks, and provide input on other municipal projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong written and spoken communication, leadership of engineering staff, and the ability to coordinate across city departments while maintaining high morale and quality

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field with at least six years of civil engineering experience.
• Iowa Professional Engineer licensure or ability to obtain within six months of appointment.
• Knowledge of public works principles and practices.
• Familiarity with Iowa DOT/SUDAS standards and regulations.
• Strong supervisory and administrative skills.
• Ability to plan and supervise technical staff and maintain engineering records.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and basic MS Office.
• Must reside within 30 air miles of Muscatine within 6 months of employment.

• Develop, coordinate, and implement ongoing city engineering projects and tasks, including design, scope development, cost estimation, construction management, inspection, and documentation.
• Consult with other city departments on engineering matters and manage engineering staff.
• Assess project issues, conduct needed research, and address citizen concerns and questions.
• Communicate effectively in writing and orally, and establish cooperative relationships across departments.
