Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) in District 61, Unit 216/West Baton Rouge Parish is seeking a Construction Inspector. The role assists engineers, inspects government projects, and may require night/weekend shifts with drug testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; or six months of related experience.
• Ability to interpret department procedures, policies, and specs.
• Must possess a class E driver's license at appointment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction work per standards and document field activities.
• Serve as primary inspector for designated area and verify surveys.
• Review haul tickets, prepare reports, and compute quantities as needed.
• Enter project data into SiteManager and LIMS systems.
• Attend preconstruction and progress meetings as assigned.
