Job summary

City of Coral Springs seeks a skilled Inspector to review, inspect, and permit construction in public infrastructure. You will ensure compliance for streets, sidewalks, stormwater, water/sewer, and city facilities throughout project lifecycles.

The role requires 5 years of public works inspection experience, knowledge of permitting processes, and driving to project sites. Join a city department focused on safe, compliant, and timely project execution.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of Public Works Construction Inspection or equivalent.
• FDEP Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Inspector Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• OSHA 10 hours Construction Safety and Health.
• MOT Intermediate or Advanced Level.
• Florida Driver License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets plans and specs for permit criteria and inspections.
• Coordinates permitted construction in public right-of-way to minimize conflicts.
• Signs off on driveway and telecommunication permits and follows up with contractors.
• Acts as liaison for City Engineer on construction matters in Public Right-of-Way.
• Oversees all City Right-of-Way construction activities by private contractors and city vendors.
• Enforces contractual requirements and approves field changes within delegated authority.
