Job summary

The City of Fredericksburg is seeking a Public Works Community Outreach & Engagement Specialist to act as a liaison between Public Works and the community, enhancing communication, transparency, and understanding of infrastructure projects and sustainability initiatives.

The role also supports citywide marketing and engagement, including digital content creation, media relations, and strategic outreach campaigns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
• Four years of experience in communications or community engagement.
• Strong understanding of public sector communications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between the Public Works Department and the community.
• Enhance communication, promote transparency, and public understanding of projects and operations.
