The City of Oxnard’s Public Works Department is seeking a Civil Engineer to support the Engineering and Capital Projects Division. The salary range for Civil Engineer positions will increase to $101,157.26 - $151,736.42 annually effective the first full pay period of July 2026.

The role emphasizes project management, plan review, and coordination with multiple City divisions; candidates should have a Civil Engineering degree, 3 years of related experience, and California licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Three years of directly related civil engineering experience.
• Possession of a Civil Engineer registration/licensure in California or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex civil engineering projects in the division, including street paving, park improvements, and right-of-way work.
• Assist with plan reviews and internal facilities development.
• Coordinate with Traffic Engineering to streamline approval of traffic control plans.
• Develop and manage the Oxnard ADA Transition Plan for the public right-of-way.
• Prepare design plans and specs with in-house and contracted resources.
• Attend neighborhood and public stakeholder meetings as required.
