Job summary

City of San Dimas is seeking a supervisory Civil Engineer to perform complex professional engineering, project management and inspection work for private development and public infrastructure, and to oversee capital improvement programs.

Under general supervision, the role includes developing plans and estimates, reviewing contracts and reports, and ensuring compliance with design standards and codes. Prior public sector experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Experience: Three years of professional civil engineering experience.
• Public sector or municipal government experience desirable.
• PE or LS license desirable; Engineer-In-Training considered if needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, manage and develop detailed plans, specs, and estimates for CIP projects.
• Review codes and standards for construction and design.
• Perform inspections for CIP projects, utility work, and ROW activities.
• Manage pavement management software and report generation.
• Coordinate bids for Council award and review construction bids.
