Job summary

The City of St. Peters is seeking a Civil Engineer to support planning, design, development, and inspection of public works and infrastructure projects throughout the community.

This position serves as a project engineer for City improvements, reviews development plans and permits, oversees construction activities, prepares technical specifications and bid documents, and provides engineering guidance to City departments and officials.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized to work in the U.S.
• Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering with EIT/EI certification.
• Ability to lift and handle a minimum of 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve as project engineer for public works and CIP projects.
• Review and issue construction, excavation and grading permits.
• Review subdivision plans, record plats, site plans and improvement plans.
• Inspect and coordinate inspections of construction, excavation and grading projects.
• Prepare project specifications, engineer's estimates, bid documents, and contract materials.
• Provide engineering guidance to City departments and officials.
• Monitor project costs and ensure CIP projects stay within budget.
