Job summary

Uintah County seeks a Chief County Engineer to lead the county’s infrastructure, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage the fiscal aspects of public works. The role oversees projects from inception to completion and reviews private development plans for code compliance.

It requires a Civil Engineering degree and at least 2 years of related experience, plus Utah PE licensure and a valid Utah driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in civil engineering, project management, or municipal public works infrastructure design.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee technical integrity, regulatory compliance, and fiscal management of Uintah County’s infrastructure and facilities.
  • Manage municipal construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Review private development plans for code compliance.
  • Provide specialized engineering support to Roads, Facilities, and Purchasing departments.
  • Ensure public works align with long-term Capital Improvement Plans and safety standards.
