Job summary

Uintah County seeks a Chief County Engineer to oversee the county's infrastructure, ensuring technical integrity, regulatory compliance, and fiscal stewardship. The role leads municipal construction from conception to completion and reviews private development for code adherence.

It supports Roads, Facilities, and Purchasing with specialized engineering guidance. A Bachelor's in Civil Engineering plus at least two years of progressive civil engineering or public works experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• Minimum of two years of progressively responsible professional experience in civil engineering, project management, or municipal public works infrastructure design.
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or license with reciprocal eligibility for Utah within six months.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical integrity, regulatory compliance, and fiscal management of Uintah County's infrastructure.
• Manage municipal construction projects from inception to completion.
• Review private development plans for code compliance and standards.
• Provide engineering support to Roads, Facilities, and Purchasing departments.
• Ensure projects align with long-term Capital Improvement Plans and safety standards.
