Job summary

CWS Construction Group Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Santa Clara, CA for public works projects.

This in-person role reports to the PM & Estimating team and involves safety site management, contract enforcement, and coordinating field staff to keep projects on schedule. The ideal candidate has public works construction experience, strong communication, and proactive problem-solving abilities to manage changing site conditions and billing.

Qualifications

• Public works construction experience required.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Organized with adaptability and proactive mindset.
• Detailed knowledge of assigned project scopes.

Responsibilities

• Participate in site management of CWS Safety plan to maintain injury-free environments and perform safety audits.
• Understand and enforce contracts with owner and subcontractors.
• Organize duties of field personnel and assigned project staff.
• Assist PM and Estimating team in project bidding and drafting contracts with subcontractors.
• Prepare, monitor, and update project schedules to ensure on-time completion.
• Coordinate distribution of drawings, changes, approved submittals, RFIs, back charges, and other project information.
• Identify, prepare documentation, negotiations and distribute change orders.
• Prepare agendas, record meeting notes, and distribute action items to the team.
• Prepare owner billing by coordinating with subcontractors, reviewing month costs, and organizing contractual documents.
