Job summary

CWS Construction Group Inc is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Solano County, CA, for public works projects. The role reports to project management and estimating teams and involves site safety, contract enforcement, and coordination of field staff.

Responsibilities include bidding support, scheduling, drawing and submittal coordination, change orders, and owner billing. This is a salaried, in-person position based in Solano.

Qualifications

• Public works construction experience is required.
• Ability to communicate and resolve complex construction issues.
• Organized approach with adaptability and problem solving.
• Detailed knowledge of assigned project scopes.
• Goal-oriented in identifying and resolving construction conflicts.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Team player with solid computer skills (Excel, Word, email).

Responsibilities

• Participate in and manage the CWS Safety plan for safe sites with audits.
• Understand and enforce contracts with owner and subs.
• Organize duties of field personnel and project staff.
• Assist PM and estimators with bidding and subcontracts.
• Prepare and monitor project schedules to meet deadlines.
• Coordinate drawings, changes, submittals, RFIs, and communications to owners, subs, and vendors.
• Identify, document, negotiate, and distribute change orders.
• Prepare agendas, notes, and action items for the team.
• Prepare owner billing with subs, review costs, and manage documents.
