Job summary

Sevier County is seeking a motivated Convenience Center Attendant I to supervise and operate county waste centers. You will assist residents with disposal, explain regulations, and maintain site cleanliness and safety.

You will coordinate with waste truck drivers, report issues to the Solid Waste Director, and enforce rules on hazardous materials. Responsibilities include opening/closing centers, directing traffic, performing minor repairs, and assisting with emergency cleanup as needed.

Qualifications

• Eighth-grade education or equivalent is required.
• Ability to pass a physical and drug screen.
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license and insurance at standard rates.

Responsibilities

• Open/close center per schedule and ensure site security.
• Assist the public with proper disposal and direct to the correct locations.
• Inspect materials for compliance and advise on hazardous waste disposal.
• Coordinate collection with solid waste truck drivers based on usage.
• Notify appropriate personnel when repairs are needed.
• Direct traffic to containers for safe disposal; maintain safety.
