Job summary

Lincoln Electric System (LES) in Lincoln, Nebraska, seeks an experienced Attorney to provide strategic legal counsel across regulatory compliance, employment law, contracts, litigation, real estate, environmental issues, legislation, and utility operations.

You will partner with leaders across the organization and represent LES in regulatory and legal proceedings, helping navigate complex challenges to support our mission of delivering safe, reliable, and affordable energy.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree and at least four years of relevant work experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
• Member of the Nebraska State Bar Association and admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Nebraska.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Represents LES as a legal advisor and performs related work including transactions or proceedings before regulatory agencies, commissioners, boards, and public agencies.
• Assists with contract negotiations with outside agencies, vendors, or contractors.
• Provides liaison to external legal counsel for LES activities.
• Prepares and reviews legal documents and correspondence such as pleadings, agreements, testimony, affidavits, briefs, waivers, proposals, easements, contracts, etc.
• Provides legal advice and review pertaining to legal transactions, proposed legislation, programs, policies, etc.
