Job summary

Sargent Electric seeks a JD-qualified attorney to serve as a legal advisor across three U.S. operating companies in electrical construction, telecom, and energy markets.

You will provide strategic and day-to-day commercial support through the full project lifecycle, including development, contracting, execution, and closeout. You will draft and negotiate complex agreements, assess risks, and work with operations, procurement, finance, and project teams to ensure contractual obligations are met.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active state bar membership.
• Experience advising business/project teams on contract administration, claims, disputes, and risk allocation.
• Experience with EPC, energy, or large-scale construction contracts.
• Experience with contract management processes and related legal technology tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a legal advisor for three U.S. operating companies across electrical, telecom, and energy markets.
• Draft, review, and negotiate EPC, electrical, telecom, utilities, and related agreements.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks and recommend mitigation strategies to leadership.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement, finance, and project teams to ensure compliance with obligations.
• Lead or support review and negotiation of claims, change orders, and disputes.
• Monitor compliance with terms, policies, and regulations across all projects.
• Support CLM tools, templates, and standard work to improve efficiency and data integrity.
• Take on additional duties as delegated by Sargent Electric Management.
