Texas Department of Transportation is seeking a Utility Coordinator I/II in Midland to support coordination with public utilities on roadway projects. The role involves working with gas, electric, water/wastewater, and telecom entities, learning right-of-way policies, and collaborating with engineers, inspectors, and environmental staff.

The position offers a day shift in Midland with travel around 10% and potential for advancement within TxDOT's utility program.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.
• Experience for Utility Coordinator I: None.

Responsibilities

• Assists in researching problems and coordinating solutions regarding potential utility conflicts and reimbursements; prepares correspondence.
• Assists with establishing and coordinates activities between the Department, federal agencies, utility companies and other entities.
• Meets with utility representatives and other entities to explain the utility accommodation policy and relocation and reimbursement processes, negotiate, answer questions to resolve problems.
• Monitors the installation/removal, adjustment or relocation of utilities.
• Prepares, processes and maintains documents, references and/or resource materials.
• Assists with review and processing of new utility installation permits
• Enters and maintains, with supervision, the electronic documentation and data in TxDOT systems are accurate and up-to-date.
• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
