Job summary

Ventura County Transportation Commission in Ventura, CA seeks an Accounting Technician to support the Finance team with AP/AR, payroll support, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting. This full-time position is temporary to permanent and reports to the Finance Director.

The ideal candidate brings 3–4 years of related experience, strong math skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–4 years performing similar accounting functions.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or closely related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice review and data entry.
• Support payroll processing, including timesheets and payroll reporting.
• Prepare and organize financial documents for audits, reporting and recordkeeping.
• Assist with journal entries, reconciliations and budget preparation.
• Contribute to monthly and annual reporting and ACFR support.
