Job summary

Crawford Area Transportation Authority is seeking a reliable Fixed Route Driver to operate a public transit bus on scheduled routes and timetables in Crawford and Venango Counties. You will perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, ensure passenger safety, collect fares, and provide courteous assistance to riders, including those with disabilities.

The role is safety-sensitive and requires a valid Pennsylvania CDL with passenger endorsement, a clean driving record, and successful completion of DOT

Qualifications

• Safety-sensitive position subject to DOT drug testing requirements.
• Must maintain a valid Pennsylvania CDL with passenger endorsement (air brake restrictions may apply).
• Ability to read and understand mapping and schedules.
• Clean driving record as per Driver Management Policy.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT drug screen and CFR 49 Part 40 requirements.
• Must communicate effectively in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Operate a public transit vehicle on assigned routes and timetables.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections with required reports.
• Maintain vehicle appearance and perform basic housekeeping.
• Provide courteous passenger service and assistance, including ADA procedures.
• Collect fares and follow company and safety protocols during shifts.
• Work varied hours and shifts and comply with all laws and regulations.
