Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage seeks a Customer Service Ambassador for the People Mover system. You will operate revenue vehicles on scheduled routes, observe safety rules, and assist passengers with information and help.

You will also handle fare equipment, announcements, and mobility-device assistance as required. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of licensed motor vehicle operator experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least one (1) year of experience as a licensed motor vehicle operator.
• Must possess a valid Alaska CDL Class B with Unrestricted Passenger Endorsement and no air brake restriction, plus satisfactory driving record.
• Or valid Alaska CDL Class B with Unrestricted Passenger Permit (endorsement within 30 days), no air brake restriction, and satisfactory driving record.
• Restriction 'L-Vehicles Without Air Brake Systems Only' not eligible.
• Prefer candidates with excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate revenue vehicle on regularly scheduled routes and special service routes.
• Provide safe, efficient, and quality transportation service to customers.
• Respond to inquiries and assist customers with information and help.
• Operate fare collection equipment and display systems; announce stops when needed.
• Assist mobility device users and ensure proper safety procedures.
