Job summary

State-of-South-Carolina invites applications for a full-time faculty member in Speech to lead and coordinate instruction for associate degree courses designed for transfer to a baccalaureate degree.

Minimum qualifications include a Doctoral degree in Public Speaking or Communications, or a Master’s degree with a concentration in Public Speaking/Communication, with 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline. Dual credentials in a second Humanities discipline are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Public Speaking or Communications, or Master’s with concentration in Public Speaking/Communication (minimum 18 graduate hours in teaching discipline).
  • Desirable dual credentials in a second Humanities discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, management, planning and coordination of instruction for Speech courses.
  • Participate in curriculum and instructional material development; assist in program learning outcomes and student learning outcomes assessment.
  • Advise students and assist with enrollment, registration, recruitment and retention activities.
  • Engage in college outreach, college committees, community service, and other assigned duties.
  • Participate in departmental, division and college planning sessions to support the college’s mission and goals and professional development activities.
