Job summary

Block by Block seeks a Cleaning Ambassador to keep public spaces clean, friendly, and safe in Bethlehem. You will engage pedestrians, remove litter, pull weeds, and wipe down outdoor surfaces while presenting a positive image in the community.

This role requires being 18+, possessing a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work outdoors in all conditions. Training is provided, and weekly pay plus benefits are offered, with seasonal shift changes.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred, but not required. We will train.
• Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have the physical capacity to walk or traverse eight hours, with breaks.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.

Responsibilities

• This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of cleaning tasks in the assigned zone.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians and visitors with a friendly greeting/smile to provide directions and/or city information.
• Litter removal — move through the zone with a rolling trash can and remove litter and debris, graffiti, posters from light posts and trash cans.
• Pull weeds that grow at tree wells, in cracks in sidewalks, and in vacant lots.
• Damp-wipe and straighten outdoor surfaces, such as trash can lids and news boxes.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to the Safety Ambassadors; complete basic daily reports in English.
