Job summary

Block by Block is seeking a Cleaning Ambassador to keep public spaces clean and friendly. The role offers weekly pay, and includes pay advances and benefits. You will work outdoors, greet people, and perform litter removal and basic reporting.

This entry-level position welcomes retirees, veterans, and graduating students. Must have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old. Training is provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred but not required; we will train.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be physically capable to walk or traverse an eight-hour shift with breaks.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions; uniforms provided.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English to create basic reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform wide-ranging cleaning tasks in assigned zone with a rolling cart.
• Greet and assist pedestrians, provide directions or city information.
• Remove litter and graffiti, maintain outdoor surfaces.
• Pull weeds at base of tree wells, cracks, and vacant lots.
• Keep outdoor surfaces tidy and clean trash can lids.
• Report any safety concerns to Safety Ambassadors and complete daily task reports in English.
