Job summary

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is seeking a Public Space Attendant to maintain cleanliness in the lobby and public areas of the conference center, gift shop, and related spaces. You will help create a welcoming environment for guests, performing routine cleaning tasks and ensuring high standards of appearance and safety.

Responsibilities include cleaning glass doors, fixtures, and dusting, emptying trash, and supporting other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to deal with the public and co-workers with tact and courtesy.
• Willingness and ability to adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
• Six months to one-year hotel housekeeping related experience.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Job Description

The Public Space Attendant is responsible for cleaning the lobby, public areas in the conference center,concierge area, gift shop, lobby telephone area, mens and ladies locker rooms, behind the front desk,and office space in the general area.

Main Duties

• Clean all glass doors in area of responsibility
• Clean and dust overhead light fixtures and chandeliers
• Check and clean fireplace area
• Dust and empty trash in all areas of responsibility
• Performs other duties as required

Required Education and Experience:

• Ability to: (1) deal with the public and co-workers with tact and courtesy; (2) use avacuum cleaner; (3) comprehend oral and written instructions
• Willingness and ability to adhere to applicable grooming and appearance standards.
• Sixmonths to one-year hotel housekeeping related experience.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical and Environmental Demands:

Physical requirements include, but are not limited to : (1) performing heavy cleaning; high and low dusting; (2) transporting objects weighing up to 60 pounds; (3) a great amount of walking in all types of weather; (4) lifting, standing and bending up to 8+ hours daily; and (5) working at heights up to 30 feet in a lift vehicle.
