Job summary

Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Williamsburg is seeking a hotel housekeeping professional to clean and prepare guest rooms within the Williamsburg Lodge. You will assist with rooms, stock linens and amenities, and maintain clean public areas, delivering attentive guest service.

The role is non-exempt, full-time, with probationary status and overtime opportunities, requiring flexibility across day, evening, and weekend shifts and adherence to grooming standards.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of hotel housekeeping experience.
• Available to work all shifts, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Able to meet grooming and appearance standards.
• Able to interact with guests and coworkers tactfully.
• Experience using a vacuum cleaner.
• Ability to understand oral and written instructions.

Compensation

$19.25 per hour

Upon being hired for this position, you will enter a Probationary status, working up to 40 hours per week.

Upon completion of the probationary period, you could become benefit eligible.

Essential Duties

• Assist Room Attendants as needed to clean and prepare guest rooms per the Williamsburg Lodge requirements
• Stock guest rooms with towels, linens, furnishings and other supplies a guest may need or request
• Keep public area around cart clean
• Rearrange some furniture as needed
• Ensure guests receive appropriate amenities
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• Six months to one year hotel housekeeping related experience.
• Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Willingness and ability to adhere to applicable grooming and appearance standards.
• Deal with the public and co-workers with tact and courtesy
• Use a vacuum cleaner
• Comprehend oral and written instructions

Physical Requirements Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Transporting objects weighing up to 150 pounds
• Heavy cleaning and high and low dusting
• A great amount of walking in all types of weather
• Lifting, standing and bending up to 8+ hours daily

This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.
