Job summary

Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services seeks a Part-Time Public Services Technician III to handle customer transactions in the Business License Division of Community Development. Responsibilities include greeting customers, processing payments, and maintaining accurate billing records.

The role requires strong keyboarding, cash-handling skills, and the ability to resolve payment-related issues while coordinating with various departments. A Notary Public credential is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus four years of experience in customer service or cashiering.
• Keyboarding skills test required for all applicants.
• Preferred: Notary Public and experience with city software such as Mavro, Accela, OnBase, and Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Leads and coordinates daily work activities of assigned crew or co-workers; communicates priorities with supervisor.
• Greets visitors, answers calls, provides information about Cobb County services and procedures.
• Receives, records and prepares receipts for payments across utilities, fines, licenses, taxes, and other fees.
• Resolves disputes or questions regarding payments and coordinates with other departments and external agencies.
• Maintains manual and automated records, opens and disconnects services, and prepares work orders and billing documentation.
• Mails billings and reminders, monitors delinquencies, and performs follow-up to bring accounts current.
• Handles money management tasks including cash drawers, daily tallies, and bank deposits.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
