Job summary

County of San Mateo's Department of Child Support Services is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Child Support Analyst I/II to help parents responsibly share in providing for their children and raising them to be healthy and successful.

We seek individuals with strong math, analytical, and communication skills who can manage a substantial caseload, interview customers, and coordinate with state and federal agencies to ensure compliance with child support orders.

Qualifications

• Two years of college-level coursework relevant to the position.
• Ability to manage a caseload with multitasking and attention to detail.
• Strong interviewing, negotiation, and case management skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer a caseload of up to 700 cases and locate parents or assets.
• Interview customers in person and by phone to verify information.
• Assist customers in completing forms and explain child support processes.
• Communicate with customers and agencies to obtain evidence.
• Monitor case files and initiate administrative or legal actions.
