Job summary

The City of Upland is seeking a highly organized Risk Management Coordinator to protect employees, operations, and resources by coordinating a comprehensive risk management program. This role reports to the Deputy Director of Human Resources & Risk Management and collaborates with all City departments to minimize organizational risk and promote workplace safety.

• Experience in risk management, claims administration, contract review, and workplace safety.
• Ability to analyze data and prepare clear reports for leadership.
• Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local risk management laws and best practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing a comprehensive risk management program for the City.
• Investigate claims and coordinate with third-party administrators and insurers.
• Review contracts and Certificates of Insurance for required coverage.
• Monitor compliance with safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop training plans and risk reduction initiatives with City staff.
• Track liability claims, prepare reports, and analyze trends.
