Job summary

Illinois Department of Children and Family Services seeks a organized Reimbursement Officer for Payment Determination and Reconciliation. Under supervision, you will review complex board payments, research discrepancies, and respond to provider inquiries.

This role supports the department's mission to ensure accurate payments for relative and traditional children. The ideal candidate has a four-year college degree in accounting/economics/business and at least one year of reimbursement

Qualifications

• Requires four years of college with courses in accounting, economics, or business administration.
• Requires one year of work experience in the reimbursement field.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Serves as Reimbursement Officer for Payment Determination and Reconciliation.
• Independently researches and analyzes discrepancies in daily transactions.
• Investigates and analyzes field and provider inquiries related to eligible board payments for relative/traditional children.
• Investigates and analyzes information necessary to determine eligible payments including AFDC eligibility status and licensing status changes.
• Conducts investigations to complete placement/payment authorization information to procure relevant information.
• Audits claim vouchers to ensure compliance with statutes, policies, procedures and contracts.
• Liaisons with private agencies, caregivers, DHFS and other agencies regarding board errors and interpretations of rules.
• Performs other duties as required within the scope of the role.
