Job summary

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking a detail-oriented Reimbursement Officer I for Children\'s Accounts in Springfield, IL.

Under general supervision, you will perform professional reimbursement functions, determine initial and ongoing eligibility for Social Security and Title IV-D benefits, and post disbursements to the Trust System to generate payments in accordance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of four years of college with courses in accounting, economics, or business administration, preferably including courses in insurance, estate, and probate law.
• Requires one year of work in the reimbursement field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Reimbursement Officer for Children's Accounts and perform professional reimbursement functions.
• Calculate conserved funds, review, process, and post disbursements to the Trust System to generate payments in line with Social Security regulations.
• Identify case-specific scenarios resulting in gaps in eligibility and overpayments.
• Liaise with field offices and SSA, answering complex questions to resolve eligibility for federal benefits.
• Perform other duties within the scope of the position as required.
